Vegan-friendly hotels — places that are not vegan-themed but cook a serious plant-based meal

2026.08.16 · The TeaVegVoyage team

Five hotels worth remembering when you travel for work or change planes.

Some hotels are not vegan by theme but are willing to cook a serious vegetarian meal. For plant-based travellers these “vegan-friendly” properties are worth noting too. Here are the ones we came across.

Guangzhou · Argyle Boutique Hotel, Lotus Hill

The hotel holds Pusu Yijing Vegetarian Restaurant, and breakfast includes a vegan set. In Guangzhou, hotels that run vegetarian cooking as a proper restaurant are few; this is one of them.

Beijing · Hotel Éclat

A hotel known for its design. In winter the Swiss chalet themed suites serve fondue with vegan side dishes — if you are strictly vegan, the base and the accompaniments are worth confirming with the hotel beforehand.

Tengchong, Yunnan · Fayu Shanju

A nature-led guesthouse built around ecological symbiosis and inner restoration, ringed by hills and close to the Gaoligong forest. Mid-century furniture and natural materials fill the interior, with a reading area, a tea room and a meditation space. Its own kitchen cooks Yunnan dishes and explicitly supports vegan and special dietary needs.

Anxi, Fujian · Yuequan Hall

A residence known for tea travel. The restaurant sources locally and folds tea into its cooking, and can arrange a health-focused vegan banquet — a good fit for anyone who wants to put tea and lodging in the same plan.

Zhoushan, Zhejiang · Luojia Xugu Collection Hotel, Mount Putuo

Near Puji Temple on Mount Putuo, with rooms in a Zen register. It is not itself a vegan hotel, but staying here puts temples and temple vegetarian food on the doorstep — an option for living inside the atmosphere.

In one sentence: these are not vegan specialists, and the standard of the vegetarian cooking and whether it is served year-round are worth confirming before you book — but next time you travel for work or change planes, they at least mean you will not have to compromise.

Details here were compiled from public sources, and the photographs are TeaVegVoyage brand assets rather than shots of the property. Prices, opening status and booking methods change — please check the hotel’s latest information before you travel.
